A really enjoyable night at UpBeat last night. 20 dancers in the hall, but still a few on the sick list. We danced 2 squares most of the night. Workshopped "Peel Off from Columns" and "Follow your Neighbour from 1/4 Tag", we are getting there. A lot of great feedback on last weeks party night. Di won the members draw. Next month we have another party night with a Country theme.

What a fabulous night at the UpBeat Chaos Black & White night. The dancers just kept coming - 32 dancers in the hall. Great to see 4 squares in their Black & White outfits. Good to see Sue, M., David & Faith with us. Inter club visitors - David, Leslee, John, Marguerite, Ena and also Bernie from Lismore. Dancers enjoyed the Black & White music selections - I had just enough to cover the night. Faith won the members draw - Lorraine & Denice won the raffle prizes.
Thanks to Helen & Chris for the "Welcome to our Party" posters as well as the pics & vids. Another big thankyou goes to all our regular dancers - week in, week out, supporting the club - Thanks.
We had quite a few still travelling or on the sick parade - we look forward to you being back. You missed a great night - but the next Upbeat Chaos party night is the 31st July with a "Country" theme - keep the date free. (Don't forget that Northside Promenaders has a "Red for Love" party night on the 29th June at Zillmere.)

Wet, wet, wet is the only way to describe last night. But we had a good night anyway. 17 dancers decided it would be more fun dancing than watching TV. Great to have Lorraine with us too. We danced 2 squares all night until the last bracket which was a 6 couple rectangle. Marty would have won the members draw, but it will continue to jackpot. Let's hope next week is dry. It's only 2 weeks until our first party night for the year. Black & White outfits and music. There will be a raffle and please bring a plate.

Easy to tell the temperature is dropping, less dancers at the club. With illness and travel - we had 15 dancers in the hall last night. So we danced 1 square all night. Just as well we had Ena from Rockhampton visiting. Still we had fun and a few laughs. Heather would have won the members draw but it will continue to jackpot. It's only 3 weeks until our first party night of the year (Black & White theme) - tell your friends.

Quite a few away last night, but an enjoyable night anyway. 17 dancers in the hall - we still danced 2 squares for most of the night. I think a few saw weather reports that I didn't - the rain didn't really hit until I was on the way home.
At one stage we did a 6 couple rectangle. Still working on "Follow your Neighbour" from 1/4 Tag formation.
The members draw will Jackpot for next time. Finished the night with a couple of classic square dance tunes - one was "Crawdad Hole"
I'm going to be calling at Buderim again this Saturday night (29th) - It's their Black & White Party night. Plus starts at 7pm then Mainstream from 7.30pm.
Don't forget - No dancing next Monday night 1st May due to the Public Holiday for Labour Day.

Had a great time last night at Upbeat. 30 dancers in the hall, so we danced 3 squares for the majority of the night.
David & Leslee visiting from Uniting Squares. We still have a few away cruising at the moment, great to have Ron & Hazel back on the dance floor. Elaine & Rob were with us, so Elaine did a couple of brackets with us.
Betty (our favourite door person) won the members draw - said it's only the 3rd time in 23 years at the club.
Please remember, there is no dancing next Monday (10th April), I hope to see everyone back on the 17th April, after the Easter break. Enjoy your Easter with family & friends, don't eat too much chocolate.

Yes, numbers were down a little last night, but we had a great time. Many of our group are travelling at the moment.
We had 19 dancers in the hall, so we danced 2 squares most of the night.
The members draw was not won, so it will jack pot (sorry David, you weren't there).
Played with a few different ideas, dancers are keeping up with some new ideas.
The excitement last night was when I tried to jump up on stage and missed!! Ended up on my back on the dance floor, losing some bark on my shin for my troubles. It was all well though, I was able to continue calling.
Dancing is on next week (3rd April) but we are not dancing the next week due to the Easter long weekend (10th)

Did a mini workshop on Peel the Top & Peel Off. Finished the night with a two number Gospel Bracket.
